Lime Partners With Nike To Unlock Tel Aviv On Marathon Day

Community, Spotlight | February 28, 2020 | Share

Lime and Nike are teaming up to help unlock Tel Aviv during the annual marathon event on February 28th. A day that is renowned for gridlocking the city’s transport network, the two companies are offering two free 12 minute Lime rides using a promo code that will be shared with Nike Running Club and retail members during the marathon. The aim of the partnership is to help the runners get to and from the marathon and also the many people in Tel Aviv who still need to move around the city when the roads are closed.

“We’re excited to be partnering with Nike on this momentous day in Tel Aviv and show our support to the thousands of runners while still helping to keep the city moving,” said Yaniv Goder, Lime’s General Manager for the Mediterranean region. “Whether you’re running, showing your support on the sidelines or simply looking to get around the city, Lime’s scooters will be available to unlock at key areas across the city and on designated parking lots for the runners.”

Scooters will be deployed across the city in a number of hotspots and high traffic zones including Arlozorov, Ganei Yehoshua, Kiriyat Shaul, Ayalon Mall and more. Riders can locate their nearest scooter directly in the Lime app and the promotion will be available for Nike Running Club and retail members between 5 am and 12 pm.

Adopting the slogan ‘Are We Running Today?’, Lime scooters will be co-branded with Nike to mark the partnership.

Lime first arrived on Tel Aviv’s streets a little over a year ago and quickly proved an essential mode of transport for many Tel Avivians during last year’s marathon, racking up an incredible number of rides in just one day. Today the e-scooters continue to be popular with over 4 million rides  and 1 out of 3 Tel Avivians having ridden a Lime scooter.
