Lime Offers Free Election Day Rides In Hamburg, Germany

Spotlight, News | February 14, 2020 | Share

On February 23, 2020, Hamburg's citizens will be called upon to elect a new state parliament, called ‘Bürgschaft’. Lime is offering free rides in order to encourage as many Hamburg citizens as possible to vote in the election of the 22nd Hamburg State Parliament.

"We hope that with our campaign we can encourage Hamburg citizens to vote in one of the polling stations on February 23," says Jashar Seyfi, General Manager at Lime Germany. "Participation in the elections has never been as important. Every vote counts – all eligible voters can and may help shape the city of Hamburg. As an integral part of Hamburg city life, we can do our part to increase participation."

How It Works

Simply download the Lime app and enter the code “RIDETOVOTEHAMBURG” and use any available Lime scooter with a free unlock and a 10-minute drive to and from the polling station. The code is valid on February 23, 2020 between 7:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. throughout Lime's business area in Hamburg. The code can be used a maximum of two times per Lime user for a free ride to and from your polling location.

As part of European city life, Lime is committed to the future of Europe and in cooperation with "thistimeimvoting.eu", had already started a similar, Europe-wide campaign during the European Parliament elections in May 2019. The aim is to encourage people to vote in flexible, safe, and sustainable way.
